Since President Obama took office, I’ve been alternately amused and baffled by the endless outrage the man inspires in so many otherwise reasonable individuals. Spurred on by the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and a host of other conservative pundits, I’ve seen many of my conservative friends driven to distraction by almost any action Obama takes (or doesn’t take). It would be funny if it weren’t so potentially dangerous. Rachel Maddow did a great job addressing this phenomenon on her show this past Friday – check out her take on “Obama Derangement Syndrome”:

Another great analysis from Arizona’s own Dawn Teo on the spectacle of conservative whining. I find it somewhat astonishing that they don’t realize that their incessant whining about all things Obama is likely to lead to their own marginalization. I’m sure that I join countless other mothers across the country in wishing we could give them a time-out until they can learn to behave like rational adults rather than petulant children:
