I have to confess: I’m totally addicted to bath and beauty products! My bathroom cabinets are overflowing with more products than I could use in an entire lifetime but still I feel compelled to buy more. When I’m out shopping, I can pass up clothes and shoes with no problem but I’m always drawn to the beauty products like a moth to a flame. Buying pretty bottles of sweet-smelling products is a small indulgence that just makes me feel good…and besides, there are far worse addictions I could have, right? I do have one main requirement for all the products I buy though – they must be cruelty-free. I just can’t justify buying a product if I know an animal may have been harmed by the company that manufactured it. Fortunately, more and more companies are committing to cruelty-free practices so it’s much easier than it used to be to find products that comply with this requirement. Many major manufacturers have now gone cruelty-free, including such well-known brands as Almay, Clinique, Estee Lauder, M.A.C., Prescriptives, Revlon, and Stila. If you need help finding out which companies are cruelty-free, check out this handy searchable database at PETA’s Caring Consumer website. To help you get started on your cruelty-free beauty campaign, you can enter to win a bag of natural, organic products from Victoria’s Secret’s PINK Body line, made from 100 percent vegan ingredients…just click on the box below to enter. Free and cruelty-free…what could be better than that?

Another reason to love Mike Ness
I’ve always liked Mike Ness but today I found out something about him that makes me admire him even more. Besides being a punk rock icon, he is apparently also a vegetarian and an animal rights activist. Check out this video on the PETA site and take a look at his “Meat’s Not Green” poster below. Way to go, Mike…I didn’t think it would be possible but you just got infinitely cooler in my eyes!
